“I am weird. You are weird. Everyone in this world is weird. One day two people come together in mutual weirdness and fall in love.” -Dr. Suess
So, during ceremonies, I can only half-listen to what’s being said during the vows and so on — my focus is rather occupied on the input from my eyes, so my ears tend to take a back seat — but I’m quite sure Jess quoted this (or something very identical to it) during her vows; she gulped down tears, and lest I risk the clarity of the input of my eyes I gulped down tears also.
Weirdness is probably as relative as anything else, but whatever their actual degree of weirdness I am quite sure they share it in mutuality together. There was a fantastic connection and energy between them throughout this gorgeous Spring day in Portsmouth, NH. Getting ready went down at the Sheraton, followed by a five-minute walk to the absolutely gorgeous grounds and interior of the Moffatt-Ladd House & Garden, which overlooks the harbor just next to the center of town. After a beautifully touching (though not so weird) ceremony, these two weirdlings and their friends and family walked a few minutes up the road to the One Hundred Club, a private restaurant and event space, for a cocktail-style reception.
Laughter. Love. Party. This is how you do it. And Shawn and his brothers know how to dance, let me tell you! This was a Portsmouth wedding to remember!
Shawn & Jess, we had an amazing time with you at your Moffatt-Ladd House & Garden Wedding! We can’t wait to share the rest of the pics with you!
